Happy Birthday Mike! and Country Christmas

We celebrated my older brother Mike's birthday at the cemetary on Saturday. I took some pictures along of when Mike and I were young. We had a picnic and I told them a few things about the uncle they never knew. He liked theatre and taking pictures; he was an artist and when he was young he liked playing with legos. We said a little prayer and walked around a while. William and Abby were interested in finding all the tombstones with the temple on it. Coleton was very reverent and pondering much. He was concerned that the kids were "stepping on people." I told him "it's okay, they'll live" not intending to make a joke. We laughed, shed a few tears. Cole decided when he grows up he would own a cemetary and take good care of the tombstones and people there. It was a great day. Before we left Will asked if we would be back next year. I told him yes, and probably sooner. He asked if it would be okay to leave his legos he had brought with him for Mike and he could get them next time. What a sweet thought. I hope you are playing legos in heaven Michael!

Then we rushed off to the ward Country Christmas party. Will and Abby insisted on dressing up. (Don't you love the Charlie's Angels pose?)
It was so much fun. There was yummy shredded pork sandwiches, marshmallow roasting, crafts and Santa and Mrs. Claus on a golf cart. William asked for a crystal light saber and the girls asked for Barbies. William invited Dad and Kathleen to come along too. Merry Christmas!
