8-8-08! Can't Wait!

Who's ready for the Olympics? I love, love, love the olympics! I thinks it's sooo amazing. It started when we lived in Jacksonville and the games were in Atlanta. Kind of cliche, but it brings the entire world together for a short time in friendly competition. Winter sports are amazing, but my favorite is the summer games! I love the swimming and gymnastics the most but beach volleyball and the track and field are exciting too. Basically, I'm glued to my TV for updates the whole time it's on. Jasmyne too. She wasn't going to take a TV to college but came to the realization that the olympics were every two years and didn't want to miss anything. Recently we were converting our VHS to DVD and we watched the gymnastics from the Atlanta games. At the time Jasmyne was in gymnastics and we were glued to our TV. You remember what happened don't you? The US women's team had the vault as their last event. Everyone had gone and most had not done well. Dominique Moceaneau, Jasmyne's idol, had sat on both her landings. Keri Strugg was the last. This is Keri's best event. On her first vault she injured herself. It looked like she was in a lot of pain. She limped back and tried to shake it off. On her second vault she stuck the landing on one foot and crumbled in pain! She was carried off on a stretcher, but the US Ladies Gymnastics team won the gold!! Gives me chills when I watch even today. So...who's excited for the olympics now?

OH MY GOODNESS! I totally got chills reading it! We love, love, love the Olympics too. Every two years Matt would do this whole big thing with his school class but this is the first year he won't have one. So he is going to do it with our family. Do ya want to join? Its basicly everyone picks a country and you keep track of your medals. Then there is some math stuff he does to make it even for everyone hence why he did it in school. But I think he was going to modifiy it for us. Anyways...sorry for the long post. We are way excited for 8-8 08!!!! The count down is on!

Cecily, Totally count us in! Give me the rules and stuff. I've got all kinds of crazy trivia for my kids and coloring sheets printed off. FYI...if you bank with BofA they even have an olympic checking account that supports the olympians!

ME! I'm excited. I've been to the Winter and Summer Olympics. So lucky for me!

Your post brought back my memories of SLC 2002. I worked for one of the cities that had an Olympic venue it and had alot of fun being involved with some neat things. I have quite the collection with some cool pins, shirts, paraphanalia, business cards(my own)with Olympic logos and stuff. I can do show and tell.

Andy and I are such nerds that we watched the Olympic Trials. Swimming was best. We tried to get Riley to watch them so she could learn to breathe.

Ingrid we'll have to get together for show and tell. I have pins, a blankie, a cow bell, etc...

Love to see your stuff!
