Back to School 2009

The kids went back to school without a hitch. I only teared up a little bit, but that was mostly because they were like "Bye mom" and got in line and started catching up with their friends.

From Smallest to Tallest
Sage starts Ms. Becky's preschool at the end of the month, but insisted I pack her a lunch and she adores her new Tinkerbell backpack. Ms. Becky drove up to drop her kiddos off at the same time and Sage was convinced she was going home with her. She got new "kicks" for school too...pink leopard print Vans.

Abby is loving first grade! The evening of the first day she said, "Mom I can't wait to go back to first grade tomorrow. I really love my new teacher." What a relief since she really, really, really loved her Kinder teacher. She's also relieved because she and her best friend Brooki are in the same class. "We sit near each other mom, but we don't talk." Abby insisted on a Hannah Montana messenger bag and My Little Pet Shop lunch box.

William is also glad to be back in school. He's in third grade this year. He's had homework already. His biggest complaint is carrying his math book to school and back everyday. The second day he was up and ready with lunch packed and teeth brushed by 6:30 am. That boy loves school...and I'm so glad he does!

Coleton said he had a terrible day when he got home, but I think that was because it was 114 degrees and the bus didn't have air conditioning. After he cooled off he told me all about his new teachers, and which friends were in his classes. He passed out in the Lazyboy before dinner. I still can't believe he's in tenth grade! I'm excited for him and what lies ahead! *If you're wondering why there's no pic of Cole let's just say he's stubborn and a teenager.

It's kind of selfish, but I really don't like back to school. I like having everyone home. Since it's so hot outside there really isn't very much to do in the summer, so I guess it's best. I'm also not a fan of the first week back to school because mom always has so much "homework" to do...six sylabi, three parent contact forms, three medical forms, volunteer sign up, etc... speaking of that, I've got some forms to fill out!
