The Kindergartners took a field trip to see the Emperor's New Clothes. They were very good and for most of them it was their first bus trip. We had lunch at the theatre and then saw the show. Their favorite part was when the king came out in his "invisible clothes" (a.k.a. red long john underwear.) We had a great time!
On Saturday the little kids and I decided to get some culture at the Art Museum. The kids were very good. We talked about how art can take various forms like sculpture, paint, photography, even barbwire and driftwood. There was even an exhibit with burnt wood hanging from fishing line (see picture above.) We explored the kids portion (not too much to it) and then ventured off to find the firefly exhibit. It was a big hit with the kids. It was a small room with mirrors completely dark with the exception of LED lights hanging from the ceiling. The lights were various colors and lengths and as you bump into them they move around like fireflys. The kids liked it so much they went twice! On the way out there was a sculpture of a woman naked missing one arm. Abby thought it was curious that she was missing an arm. Sage said, "Mom that girl isn't wearing any undies" I reminded her art comes in many forms and sometimes it doesn't wear underwear!
