We had the opportunity to get out of the heat and enjoy some fall camping at Bear Canyon Lake. Some of the highlights were a bald eagle and a gardner snake along the trail. The only downfall was the big kiddos didn't get to come along and Sage got stung by a wasp. The kids met some new friends and we caught up with some we hadn't seen in a while. We took an extra long hike around the lake. It was sooooo much farther than we expected. It was a pleasant surprise to round the corner and see a beautiful grassy spot with aspen (my favorite tree) and calm waters. We have chosen a spot near here for our next camping trip.

Luke really enjoyed fetching sticks again, although the water was quite cold and if we threw the stick too far he whimpered until the stick came to the shore. Luke was very exhausted. I think he forgot he's not a puppy anymore. He took every opportunity to rest in a cool spot.
William really wanted to swim across the lake despite his fear of crawdads.
It's always good to get out of the heat and enjoy the GREAT OUTDOORS!
