It's a Family Tradition

I came to the realization this weekend when Jasmyne was explaining to her boyfriend, Pablo, how to "properly" carve a pumpkin, that our family has a lot of traditions for Halloween. (Besides the family costume theme. That's another post).

1st At the store/pumpkin patch visualize the face you'll put on the pumpkin, (ie..long pumpkins make great silly faces)
2nd The bigger the stem the better
3rd Draw several faces on a piece of paper before carving
4th Make a notch in the top for easy placement of the lid
5th Never, never, never throw away the seeds!

For the past couple of years we've managed to burn the seeds, but this year they were delicious (thanks Jazz)!!
