Our women's conference this weekend with Sis. Okazaki was amazing! Women's conference is always great, but I swear she was talking straight to me!! Sam's always reminding me to "choose to be happy" and the leaders of the church and scriptures tell us "we are that we may have joy"...but when you're deep in it, it's sometimes hard to find the joy!! So with new found hope I will attempt to walk in the sunshine and find joy in the journey...and if I don't follow-through you have my permission to remind me (Sam always does).
So, there is a song by Trace Adkins called "You're Gonna Miss This" and we had seen him sing it on the Apprentice finale. Well, the next morning while I'm trying to get ready for work and Sam's cozy in bed my little mini me (Sage) decides to wake up early. She is literally stuck to me and cannot be out of arms length from me. She wants me to pick her up, but I am frantically trying to get ready for work. I walk into the closet to get dressed and she is holding onto my leg for dear life. I plead with her AGAIN to let me get ready for work...but she's not having it. Sam, from the bed, can hear my pleadings and says, "Remember, Heather you're gonna miss this" I reply, "yeah, but right now I'm late for work!" Joy in the journey...she won't always be around to hold my leg...or even want to.

Oh Heather that is the sweetest post. I missed the conf. but you made me feel so much better by giving me a little of what was said and especially your feelings and what you learned from it. You are an awesome mom and woman! Thanks.
Your post comes at a good time for me too! Brady has been wearing me thin lately and by the end of the day I am out of patience. Normally I lay down at night and think about why every day has to end on such a bad note. So it really helps to be reminded that they are only "4" for a little while and there are LOTS of things that he does that add TONS of joy to my journey. And I know that someday I will miss this part of the walk.
